Life is reduced to a bottom line mentality in which everything has a price – including family, friendships, faith, principles, and character.Tragically, a life ruled by greed for money eventually leads to evil,and the final return on that money is sorrow. (1 Timothy 6:10) I have a simple antidote: Ask yourself regularly (very regularly) what you are going to do with the money you’re hoping to receive. And what, son of my vows? Recently I read today’s proverb ,the expression, “son of my vows,” captured my attention . I think of Hannah and how she dedicated Samuel to God,or Joseph and Mary and how they dedicated Jesus at the Temple.I also think of my own mother. Some of my earliest memories are of my mother reminding me of her vow concerning me. She’d say, “Son, before you were even born, I dedicated you to the Lord.
