Keeping Christ in Christmas

Keeping Christ in Christmas

The number one way to keep Jesus Christ in your Christmas celebration is to have Him present in your daily life. "If you've already accepted Jesus as your Savior and made Him the center of your life, keeping Christ in Christmas is more about the way you live than the things you say—such as "Merry Christmas" versus "Happy Holidays."

Keeping Christ in Christmas means daily revealing the character, love and spirit of Christ that dwells in you, by allowing these traits to shine through your actions. Here are simple ways to keep Christ the central focus of your life this Christmas season.

1) Give God one very special gift just from you to Him:

Let this gift be something personal that no one else needs to know about, and let it be a sacrifice. David said in 2 Samuel 24 that he would not offer a sacrifice to God that cost him nothing.

Maybe your gift to God will be to forgive someone you've needed to forgive for a long time. You may discover that you've given a gift back to yourself.

2) Set aside a special time to read the Christmas story in Luke 1:5-56 through 2:1-20

3) Set up a Nativity scene in your home

4) Plan a project of good will this Christmas

5) Set aside a time of family devotions on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning

Just remember, make sure you keep Christ in your Christmas.

Christmas at Our Doorstep

-|

Sermon: Christmas at Our Doorstep

Text: Luke 2:1–20
Theme: The Nearness of Christ – God Comes Close
Length: ~8–10 minutes (adjustable)

Introduction: The Season’s Nearness

Christmas is at our doorstep. You can feel it – the lights, the music, the smells of baking, the rush of shopping, the buzz of expectation. And yet, in the middle of all that noise, there’s a gentle knock – not from the delivery man, but from the Savior.

Christmas isn’t just a holiday coming near. It’s God Himself coming near.

1. The First Christmas Was at Their Doorstep – But Few Noticed

Luke 2 tells us of a Savior born in a manger – not in a palace or a temple, but in the quiet, hidden corners of the world.

The people of Bethlehem had no room for Him. The inn was full. Life was busy. People were preoccupied. Sound familiar?

Sometimes we’re so caught up in the celebration that we miss Christ in Christmas.

2. God Still Comes Close

John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”
Jesus didn’t shout at us from a distance. He came to our doorstep.

He stepped into our mess – into poverty, pain, uncertainty. Not as a distant deity, but as Emmanuel – God with us.

Christmas is not about us climbing up to God – it’s about God stepping down to us.

3. Will We Open the Door?

Revelation 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the door and knock…”
This isn’t just poetic language. It’s personal.

Every Christmas, Jesus knocks again:

  • Not just on church doors
  • Not just on December 25th
  • But on the door of our hearts

He asks: Will you make room for Me?

Not just in your calendar, but in your life.

4. The Shepherds Responded – So Can We

When the angels told the shepherds, they didn’t delay. They said, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened.”

They came in awe. They left rejoicing.
Christmas changed them — not just the night, but their lives.

What about you?

Conclusion: The Door Is Open

This Christmas, as Christ stands at the doorstep, will we:

  • Hear His knock?
  • Make room in the inn of our lives?
  • Welcome Him not just once a year, but every day?

Let this Christmas be more than tradition.
Let it be transformation.

Christmas is at our doorstep — and so is Jesus.

Will you open the door?

Let me know if you’d like this sermon expanded with illustrations, a children’s version, or specific denominational flavor (e.g., Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, etc.).

Point of Grace - The Great Divide

🌉 Devotional Reflection: The Great Divide

📖 “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” – 1 Timothy 2:5

“The Great Divide” is a powerful reminder of the spiritual chasm that once separated us from God—a divide carved by sin and human brokenness. But through the mercy of the Father and the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, a bridge was built to span that divide.

🎶 *“There’s a bridge to cross the Great Divide

East to West

Here’s a powerful live performance of “East to West” by Casting Crowns:

📺 Watch now: East to West (Live from YouTube Space New York)

✝️ Devotional Reflection: East to West

📖 “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” – Psalm 103:12

This song is a heartfelt cry for mercy and a reminder of God’s complete forgiveness. It speaks to the struggle of guilt and the fear of being abandoned, yet it points us to the truth: Jesus has cast our sins away—forever.

🎶 “Jesus, can You show me just how far the east is from the west?”

Let this song remind you that no matter your past, God’s grace covers it. You are not defined by your mistakes—you are redeemed by His love.

"Do You Hear What I Hear"

Encouraging Word

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.

~ Psalm 13:5-6,
NLT

At the Cross

At the Cross

I met Him in the garden, at the place of Gethsemane
I watched Him walk down to the cross of Calvary
The burdens of the world, He did take in prayer
With groaning and weeping He did tarry there,

I looked into his eyes and saw the plan of salvation
The sorrow’s He did carry, was for each and every nation
His brow drip with blood, His heart ached with pain
But He knew that man’s redemption would not be in vain.

The dusty road to the cross our iniquity he bore
Became the keys for tomorrow, that would open heaven’s doors
His broken body hung with His arms stretched wide
Beaten, bruised, and spitted on with stripes upon his side,

His obedience to His Father, He became the sacrificed
He gave up His authority, As He was the Messiah, the Christ
The blood that was shed at the cross of Calvary
Was the price that was paid for all of eternity.

His spirit left his body as the earth began to shake
The prince of darkness realized, he had made a mistake
The veil had been rent in two
Now, no more gentiles no more Jew,

Jesus Arose from the dead, to set ALL men free
Now truth is revealed, so that ALL might see

When the Storm Rages, Keep Praising

Life doesn’t always make sense. The pain, the loss, the unanswered prayers—it can feel overwhelming. But even in the storm, God is near. He sees every tear and hears every cry.

🎶 “I’ll praise You in this storm, and I will lift my hands…”

– Casting Crowns

Let this song remind you that worship isn’t just for the mountaintop—it’s for the valley too. God is faithful, even when the skies are dark.

Sea Of Faces

“Sea of Faces” by Kutless is a deeply moving Christian rock song that explores themes of individual worth, divine love, and personal salvation in a world that often feels overwhelming and impersonal.

🌊 Devotional Reflection: Seen in the Sea of Faces

📖 “I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world, lost in a sea of faces…”

In a world of millions, it’s easy to feel invisible—like just another face in the crowd. But this song reminds us that God sees us, knows us, and loves us personally. The lyrics reflect a powerful truth: even if only one heart were saved, Jesus would have still given His life.

🎶 “Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine / Because You traded Your life for mine”

This line points to communion, symbolizing Christ’s sacrifice and the intimate relationship He offers. It’s a message of hope for anyone feeling insignificant or forgotten.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for seeing me in the crowd. When I feel lost or unseen, remind me that You know my name and love me deeply. Help me to live with confidence in Your love and to share that love with others who feel alone.
Amen.

💔 Devotional Reflection: Fall Apart

📖 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

“Fall Apart” is a heartfelt reminder that God meets us in our brokenness. When life feels overwhelming and we’re falling apart, that’s often when we’re most open to His healing and grace.

🎶 “I fall apart to be rebuilt…”

Josh Wilson’s lyrics reflect the truth that surrender leads to restoration. We don’t have to have it all together—God is strong in our weakness, and He lovingly rebuilds what’s been broken.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for loving me even when I fall apart. Help me to trust You in the broken places, knowing that You are working all things together for good. Rebuild me with Your grace and make me whole again.
Amen.

💪 Devotional Reflection: Stronger

📖 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.” – Psalm 28:7

Anne Wilson’s song “Stronger” is a powerful anthem of faith, reminding us that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. When life feels heavy and we feel like we’re breaking, His grace lifts us up.

🎶 “I’m stronger than I feel, stronger than I think, stronger than I know…”

This song encourages us to lean into God’s strength—not our own. He is our refuge, our rock, and the source of every victory.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for being my strength when I feel weak. Help me to trust You more deeply and walk in the confidence of Your promises. Remind me that I am stronger because You are with me.
Amen.

I'll Be Home For Christmas

🎄 Devotional Reflection: I’ll Be Home for Christmas

📖 “For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.” – Hebrews 13:14

This classic Christmas song stirs emotions of longing, love, and hope. For many, “home” is more than a place—it’s a feeling of belonging, peace, and connection. Spiritually, it reminds us of our eternal home with Christ, where there is no more sorrow, separation, or longing.

🎶 “I’ll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams…”l

Encouraging Word

Galatians 6:10

New Living Translation (NLT)
10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

The Blessed Life-Part 4

Breaking the spirit of Mammon

Foundation Scriptures :Mathew 6 and Luke 16

The word mammon appears four times in the  Bible and it is found three times in these verses and once in Mathews 6.

Matthew 6:24

New King James Version (NKJV)
You Cannot Serve God and Riches

24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:9-15

New King James Version (NKJV)
9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail,[a] they may receive you into an everlasting home. 10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
The Law, the Prophets, and the Kingdom

14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. 15 And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

We will answer three questions today:

1.What is mammon?
Mammon is an Aramaic word which means "riches."
Mammon was also an Assyrian god of riches. It came from Babylon.
Mammon is a spirit  that rests on money.

All money has a spirit on it; either the spirit of God or the spirit of mammon.

When you give the first portion to God you redeem the rest and bring it out from under the  Spirit of  mammon and allow the Spirit of God to get on it and that is why that money according Malachi
multiples and the Devourer cannot devour it.

Money that has the Spirit of God on it cannot be touched by the  devourer. Money that hass the spirit of mammon can be devoured and will be devoured by the Devourer.

Mammon premises you everything  and gives you nothing. Mammon is a liar. Mammon promises you what only God can  give you. Mammon is looking for servants and worshipers.

Mammon says, "I am the answer to all of your problems."

This is what we say many times: "I either need need God to come through  for me OR I need someone to give me a truckload of money."

Mammon wants to be your god.

Mammon is very subtle. It says things to you like,"If you would serve me, you could help more people. If you had more money, you would be able to help more people."

Jesus never told anyone that their answer was found in more money.

You can Never replace God!

Mammon has two very close friends: the spirit of pride and the spirit of poverty.

2. Is money evil?

Money is not evil or good; it is neutral.

Luke 16:9

New King James Version (NKJV)
9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail,[a] they may receive you into an everlasting home.

3. What should I do with money?

The first answer is to be a Good Steward of your money.

God is looking for Good Stewards.

Luke 16:10

New King James Version (NKJV)
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

The Good Stewards will always get more . The Bad Stewards will not get more.

Luke 16:12

New King James Version (NKJV)
12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
God owns it all and it is not how much it is, it is WHOSE it is.

Luke 16:11

New King James Version (NKJV)
11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Remember this: People Last Forever. True riches last forever! True riches are People!

🙏 A Parent’s Prayer for God’s Vision and Guidance

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the precious gift of my children. You have entrusted me with their lives, and I ask for Your wisdom to guide them in Your ways. Help me to lead by example, showing them what it means to walk by faith, to set goals with purpose, and to pursue Your vision for their lives.

Give me strength to nurture them with love, discipline, and grace. Help me to see the big picture You have for our family and to set goals that align with Your Word. May our home be a place where Your presence dwells, Your truth is spoken, and Your love is felt.

Teach me to trust You with their future, knowing that You have a plan far greater than I can imagine. Let my prayers be filled with faith, my actions with intention, and my heart with peace.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Better Than A Hallelujah

Amy Grant’s song “Better Than a Hallelujah”:

💔 Devotional: Better Than a Hallelujah

📖 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

Amy Grant’s “Better Than a Hallelujah” reminds us that God doesn’t just delight in our praise when life is good—He draws near when we’re at our lowest. The song paints a picture of a God who listens to the honest cries of breaking hearts and calls them beautiful.

🎶 “We pour out our miseries, God just hears a melody. Beautiful the mess we are…”

This song is a powerful reminder that our vulnerability is worship. When we bring our pain, our shame, our silence, and our tears to God, He receives them with love. He doesn’t require perfection—He desires honesty.

🙏 Prayer

Father, thank You for loving me in the middle of my mess. Help me to come to You with my whole heart—joys, sorrows, and everything in between. Teach me to trust that You hear me, even when all I can do is cry.
Amen.

🌟 Devotional Reflection: Song of Hope

📖 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.” – Romans 15:13

“Song of Hope” is a reminder that even in the darkest moments, God’s promises shine bright. Hope is not wishful thinking—it’s the confident expectation that God is faithful, present, and working all things for good.

🎶 “Give us hope, O Lord…”

Let this song lift your spirit and remind you that no matter what you face, you are never alone. God’s love is your anchor, and His hope is your song.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

In Sarah Young’s devotional book, “Jesus Calling” she said, “A spinning ballerina must keep returning her eyes to a given point in order to maintain her balance.” So it is the same with us. We must keep our eyes turned on Jesus. Then our purpose, vision and focus is one. The hymn writer put it like this: “Turn your eyes upon Jesus; look full in his wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace.”

Peter learned that as long as he kept his eye fixed on Jesus he could do the impossible, but when he turned to look at his surroundings he began to sink. So it is with each of us. May our prayer be: “Lord help us to train our eyes to look upon your face so that the impossible becomes the ordinary.”

Think on these things.

THE BLESSED LIFE-PART-3

THIS IS A TEST!

Most believers do not know that God gives you a test every few weeks.

Every time we get paid,we take a test.

Here is the test::Who we going to thank for the increase that just came into our lives? Who are we  going  to worship? Who are going  to worship? Who are we going to honor?

Malachi 3:6-12

New King James Version (NKJV)
6 “ For I am the LORD, I do not change;
Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
7 Yet from the days of your fathers
You have gone away from My ordinances
      And have not kept them.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,”
      Says the LORD of hosts.

      “ But you said,

‘ In what way shall we return?’
Do Not Rob God
    8 “ Will a man rob God?
      Yet you have robbed Me!
      But you say,

‘ In what way have we robbed You?’
      In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse,
      For you have robbed Me,
      Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
      Says the LORD of hosts,

“ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “ And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
      Says the LORD of hosts;
12 And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
      Says the LORD of hosts.
This is the God WHO CANNOT CHANGE TALKING TO US.

Ordinance-comes from the word "ordinary" it is a principle of ordinary behavior. Normal people would follow this principle.

What God wants to do is redeem our finances out from under the curse by us returning the tithe to Him.

1. Tithe is a test.

The tithe means the tenth part or ten percent.

In the bible, the number ten represents testing.

God developed tithing to test our hearts. When it comes to our money, it can be a big test.

Malachi is telling us: If tithe I am blessed. If I don't tithe, I'm cursed.

God does not curse us; we are voluntarily placing ourselves under the curse that is on this planet as a result of man's sins.

. Here is an argument that some give: I can't be cursed because I am a believe and Jesus bore the curse for me so I cannot be cursed..

. Another argument: Tithing is under the law and as a believer I am not under the law but under grace;so I don't  tithe.

Under grace we always do more what was expected under the law.

2.Tithing  is Biblical.

Genesis 14:18-20-

This is 500 years before the law.
New King James Version (NKJV)
Abram and Melchizedek

18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said:

“ Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.”
And he gave him a tithe of all.

Genesis 28:22- This is 400 years before the law.

New King James Version (NKJV)
22 And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”

Leviticus 27:30

New King James Version (NKJV)
30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.

Deuteronomy 26:1-2

New King James Version (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 26

Offerings of Firstfruits and Tithes
1 “And it shall be, when you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, 2 that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that the LORD your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide.

If Jesus said to you, "You ought to tithe" would you do  it?

Matthew 23:23

New King James Version (NKJV)
23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

Hebrews 7:1-8

New King James Version (NKJV)

Hebrews 7

The King of Righteousness
1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” 3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils. 5 And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; 6 but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. 7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. 8 Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.
You may put your tithes  into the container when it is received and mortal men may take it out and  handle it but  Jesus receives it.

3.Tithing is a benefit.

2 Chronicles 31:4-10

New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Moreover he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to contribute support for the priests and the Levites, that they might devote themselves to the Law of the LORD.
5 As soon as the commandment was circulated, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of grain and wine, oil and honey, and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything. 6 And the children of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, brought the tithe of oxen and sheep; also the tithe of holy things which were consecrated to the LORD their God they laid in heaps.
7 In the third month they began laying them in heaps, and they finished in the seventh month. 8 And when Hezekiah and the leaders came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD and His people Israel. 9 Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. 10 And Azariah the chief priest, from the house of Zadok, answered him and said, “Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat and have plenty left, for the LORD has blessed His people; and what is left is this great abundance.”
Malachi says to bring the tithe  into the storehouse so there may be food in my house.
Someone is paying for the food in the house of  God, our church.

You will never be able to afford to tithe until you  begin  to tithe.

You may have to downsize so that you can quit robbing God and get out from under that curse. But I can assure you that if you do that, it will not be too long and you will will be up sizing.

Before the Morning

I Here’s a devotional message inspired by Josh Wilson’s “Before the Morning”:

🌅 Devotional: Before the Morning

📖 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

Life can feel overwhelming when we’re walking through pain, uncertainty, or loss. But “Before the Morning” reminds us that God is working, even when we can’t see it. The night may be long, but morning is coming—and with it, healing, hope, and joy.

🎶 “Would you dare, would you dare to believe / That you still have a reason to sing?”

This song is a gentle encourageme1. nt to hold on. God is faithful. He sees your tears, hears your prayers, and promises that your story isn’t over.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for being with me in the dark seasons. Help me to trust that You are working all things for good, even when I don’t understand. Give me strength to hold on and faith to believe that joy is coming.
Amen.

God's Charater witness Healing

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth

Peter is preaching a short message here and he is bringing a conclusion to his message.
You  don't have to preach a long message for it to be powerful.
Peter preached  about five to seven min. on the day of Pentecost and three thousands people gave there hearts to Christ.  Here Peter is preaching again and he is bringing a conclusion for his message and in verse thirty eight he said this

Acts 10:38

New King James Version (NKJV)
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Now understand this Peter was a apostle(Disciple of Christ)from day one   when Jesus choose the disciples Peter was one of the first apostles  and it is interesting as he summarizes this message and he is drawing attention and bringing the colonizations  about the Lord Jesus Christ. Peter had a lot  of experiences it's everything he had seen and heard and experienced with the Lord Jesus Christ. All these things Peter had experienced and seen he could have said and said this is the Jesus I am talking about but it is interesting that what he choose to do was to highlight  what I believe is the characteristic of Jesus Christ's entire Ministry and that was

Acts 10:38

New King James Version (NKJV)
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Isn't interesting that healing was the characteristic that Peter choose to describe
Healing was the characteristic of Jesus Christ's ministry God is a healer Jesus is a Healer
so if healing characterizes Jesus ministry when he was walking the earth God is still   characterizes his ministry today Jesus is still a healer

In Hebrews He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Exodus 15

This is the chapter that is summarized that brought the people of Israel out of the bandages Egypt they go though on dry land they cross though the red sea they cross though on dry land and God performs mighty miracles well first of all lets go back God was preformed 10 miracles to get them out of Egypt to change Farrows heart so they could come out so the Israelite's seen all of these wonderful miracles. They knew them as plegs they are miracles on our side on it but and so God brings them out of Egypt gets them out  into the wilderness brings them to the red sea and all of a sudden he opens up the red sea they cross through on dry land they get on the other side.Farrows and his armies are casing them then they turned around and watched the waters surround and sallow all of the Egyptian armies and so they just had this big celebration. But it is interesting to me that when God begins to talk to them right after all toughs miraculous things takes place look in verse 26

Exodus 15:26

New King James Version (NKJV)
26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

And he still is the Lord that health thee
You know he could have said I am the great warrior God that delivered you. I am the one that defeated   Farrows armies.I am the one that brought all toughs mighty miracles and caused the hearts of the Egyptians to be turned and all of that but no he choose to be identified to his people as the Lord that health thee today.
Now defining characteristic of someone is something that they are known by. All of you are probably have herd of Beach Boys. You know I could blind fold you not showing you what kind of music that we are going to be playing and I grantee you you would be able to say oh,  that's is the Beach Boys  because the Beach Boys had a characteristic   harmony about them when they sang ok know I am really going to go back with this one. How about about do you remember Frankie Vally. What was his Frankie  Vally known for? It was the falsetto voice (Big Girls Don't Cry). So I could not be able to tell you that song and play that song and you could identify that's them. Why because that's the identifying characteristic  of that group. There are many groups that have these kind of characteristics.Let me bring it up to more contemporary times some of you might remember some Be-gees music from the disco  days. You know I could play some Be-gees music and that sound that they had was characteristic. You could easily identify that what I am saying to you is this that there are characteristics that he wants us to get access to it is us in his word and that the characteristic is that he is a healer that he is a healer that does not want his people bound up by sickness and diseases. So because God has that characteristic Jesus is God incarnate . When we walked on the earth he had the identity and the characteristic of being a healer as well. Why was God so emphatic  on this? Why did God want the identity characteristic to be healing . Well if you really think about it in humanity our number one concern apart from spiritual things is the physical conditions of our body you know many of us might be over whelmed with   certain needs going on in our life . We might have some financial needs  we might have some  marital needs going on . I mean all of us are dealing with certain issues like that in our life's  but I grantee you if something stated hurting in your body or your body started feeling unlike  it should those all become secondary immediately. See God knows the most primary concern other them your spiritual  needs and your salvation is the care of your physical body. You know Jesus said over in Mathew chapter 6 you remember when he was talking to his disciples he said why take ye thought for your body what your going to put on what you are going to eat all of those things those are all primary things concerns that we have but the thing that God knows is that apart form your spiritual needs and a lot of people  do not know they have spiritual needs but your physical are primary  to you can become your greatest concern once something gos wrong in that area and God knows he is aware of this and so hen endeavors to do to minister to humanity  on that level and see what I what I want you to understand. God cares about the care of your body I mean that it is very very important to him. God is very interested in you physical well being. Your physical well being  is very much is in the mind and in the heart of God. Alright  in the ministry of Jesus we have already identified  that Peter  said in Acts 10:38 that Jesus was fist and foremost a healer. You  know there was three things Jesus was known for in his ministry preaching, teaching, and healing and most of the time when he preached and when he taught what he was doing was building the hope and faith of the people. So they could receive form his healing ministry. This will be mentioned later on but in Mark chapter six to his own home town  the bible said that there would be no mightily work  of a few miracles because of doubt and unbelief. well the bible don't  say he packed all the disciples up closed down the tent  got them packed up and then said  load up we are going to the next town . No he did not do that do that if you read on it says that he went about teaching and preaching  the Gospel. He did not just preach to  them that I am the way to heaven he preached that and taught the of course but what is believed is that Jesus went back to the old covenant and taught them. What we just learned is in Exodus 15:26 that  God is your healer that God wants to deliver you see the reason that we know that is because the power of God is present   over and over again to heal and God power shows up and it comes up where faith is present. What you need to understand is about the Power of God and especially about the healing  power of God is most of the time especially where believer are concerned. God doesn't just show up with his healing for no reason at all where  believers are concerned the healing power of God is present because somebody is believing. Now don't get that confused with signs, wonders, and  miracles. Did you know signs, wonders, and miracles is not for the church but more Christians are crying out for more signs wonders and miracles   I don't get it either your convected that God is   real or your not. God did signs, wonders, and miracles in the book of Acts to prove to a lost and a dieing word that he loved them and he is God.  We should not need that. Did you know that? Now that's  not to say you can't have a miracle if you need one but really God desire is that we don't sit around and go oh God send the miracles oh God send the wonders oh God send the signs. No what  are job is  to be trained and train to be equate and equate to be taught   so you can become a vessel that God uses so we can  preform    the signs, wonders, and miracles. Jesus said in Mark chapter 16 that the believer shall bring  people to the church so the pastor  can lay  on them No he said believes shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. So healing in the will of God is concerned about your body.

Let me give you a little  historical background  at this particular time    Israel is divided  into two kingdoms there is a northern kingdom called Isreal and the southern kingdom is called Judea   where Jerusalem was about around this time all of them had become corrupted and wicked sin had creeped in  and   so the Assyrians had pretty much had been coming and overtaking them over and over and over again. what would happen is they would come and defeat them. They would take whatever they wanted from Syria after a period  of time they would come back beat them up again take what they wanted and take it back. So this had been going on for for a while and there  was a Commander General in the  Syria army named Naaman  and 2 kings chapter 1 says

2 Kings 5:1-4

New King James Version (NKJV)

2 Kings 5

Naaman’s Leprosy Healed
1 Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper. 2 And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife. 3 Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.” 4 And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, “Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.”

This man is a heathen(Naaman) he is not saved he is not part of the chosen people he is not a Hebrew he is not part of either one of these kingdoms he is a pagan Idol worshiping heathen he is about as out there as you can get but he has leprosy  and so it says in verse two and so we see here Naaman has leprosy and his servant girl helping his wife and so she comes in  and tells her  there is a prophet down in Samaria that could minister to you and heal you   now drop down to verse 9

2 Kings 5:9-15

New King James Version (NKJV)
9 Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and 10you shall be clean.” 11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ 12 Are not the Abanah[a] and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

Now the Jordan river have you ever been over the Catawba River how muddy it is  you can't see the bottom can you.You know it's not exactly look enticing to go out and take a bath does it . So he gos to the Jordan River and he had to go and dip in this muddy water that's unclean  and so I could go home and get a clean water (it was a clean river)and be healed and he went home and was mad did not understand all of that and all of a sudden he was approached and what was said is   If the prophet told you to go do something great would you do it and not done it what if he came out and told you to go climb a mountain you would have done it If he wanted you to do something greater you would have done it and so he comes out to you and tells you something simple go wash and be clean  now verse 14so Naaman dipped seven times in the water and he was restored  so what happen he got his healing he received his healing why because he did what the prophet told him to do. Now we are going to see here is verse 15 why healing is such a strong characteristic of God  it says here in verse 15 he was thrilled about what the Lord had done to heal his body that he went back to Elisha’s house and Naaman acknowledge that God was the only God because he healed him. God uses healing to prove to us and to people in general that he is the one true living God.
Healing is the dinner bell that God uses to brings people to the table of salvation  because God will sometimes show up in the life's of people to minister to them and do great things to them to prove to them that he is God he might minister healing to them such a powerful and personal thing I mean think about it if there is something that you are dealing with in your body in an extremely personal nature private nature God heals that how does that speak to your heart about the word of God it's a very personal thing and it shows you God and he uses it to prove that he loves you and that he is God. Now Mark the first chapter

Mark 2

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic
1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. 2 Immediately[a] many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. 3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. 4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic,

The paralytic had no use of lems  and a Jesus seen there Faith and he forgave and healed the paralytic
When you have Faith for God  for something you see it  Faith will govern what you say and do
