I'll Be Home For Christmas

🎄 Devotional Reflection: I’ll Be Home for Christmas

📖 “For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.” – Hebrews 13:14

This classic Christmas song stirs emotions of longing, love, and hope. For many, “home” is more than a place—it’s a feeling of belonging, peace, and connection. Spiritually, it reminds us of our eternal home with Christ, where there is no more sorrow, separation, or longing.

🎶 “I’ll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams…”l

The Blessed Life-Part 4

Breaking the spirit of Mammon

Foundation Scriptures :Mathew 6 and Luke 16

The word mammon appears four times in the  Bible and it is found three times in these verses and once in Mathews 6.

Matthew 6:24

New King James Version (NKJV)
You Cannot Serve God and Riches

24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke 16:9-15

New King James Version (NKJV)
9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail,[a] they may receive you into an everlasting home. 10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
The Law, the Prophets, and the Kingdom

14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him. 15 And He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

We will answer three questions today:

1.What is mammon?
Mammon is an Aramaic word which means "riches."
Mammon was also an Assyrian god of riches. It came from Babylon.
Mammon is a spirit  that rests on money.

All money has a spirit on it; either the spirit of God or the spirit of mammon.

When you give the first portion to God you redeem the rest and bring it out from under the  Spirit of  mammon and allow the Spirit of God to get on it and that is why that money according Malachi
multiples and the Devourer cannot devour it.

Money that has the Spirit of God on it cannot be touched by the  devourer. Money that hass the spirit of mammon can be devoured and will be devoured by the Devourer.

Mammon premises you everything  and gives you nothing. Mammon is a liar. Mammon promises you what only God can  give you. Mammon is looking for servants and worshipers.

Mammon says, "I am the answer to all of your problems."

This is what we say many times: "I either need need God to come through  for me OR I need someone to give me a truckload of money."

Mammon wants to be your god.

Mammon is very subtle. It says things to you like,"If you would serve me, you could help more people. If you had more money, you would be able to help more people."

Jesus never told anyone that their answer was found in more money.

You can Never replace God!

Mammon has two very close friends: the spirit of pride and the spirit of poverty.

2. Is money evil?

Money is not evil or good; it is neutral.

Luke 16:9

New King James Version (NKJV)
9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail,[a] they may receive you into an everlasting home.

3. What should I do with money?

The first answer is to be a Good Steward of your money.

God is looking for Good Stewards.

Luke 16:10

New King James Version (NKJV)
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

The Good Stewards will always get more . The Bad Stewards will not get more.

Luke 16:12

New King James Version (NKJV)
12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?
God owns it all and it is not how much it is, it is WHOSE it is.

Luke 16:11

New King James Version (NKJV)
11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Remember this: People Last Forever. True riches last forever! True riches are People!
