Scripture
===============
Job 42:12 (NIV)
---------------
The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.
Notes
===============
God wants the latter part of your life to be more blessed than the first part.
Notes
===============
When we get frustrated, we do not pay attention to the obvious.
Scripture
===============
Job 38:1-3 (NIV)
---------------
Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:
“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?
Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.
Scripture
===============
Job 40:3-7 (NIV)
---------------
Then Job answered the Lord:
“I am unworthy—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.
I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more.”
Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:
“Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.
Notes
===============
The latter part of Job’s life ended up better because he learned how to seek and surrender to the voice of God.
Notes
===============
There are four primary ways God speaks to us:
1.  The Bible
Notes
===============
Where God has already spoken clearly, we need to submit to what He has said.
Scripture
===============
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
---------------
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Scripture
===============
Psalm 19:7-8 (NIV)
---------------
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
Scripture
===============
Proverbs 30:5 (NIV)
---------------
“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Notes
===============
At the end of the day, God’s Word is true and God’s Word works!
Notes
===============
2.  The Holy Spirit
Scripture
===============
Ephesians 1:13-14 (NIV)
---------------
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Thanksgiving and Prayer
Notes
===============
If you are in Christ and a child of God, you have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you!
Notes
===============
The Holy Spirit will never lead you to do something different than what God’s Word says.
Scripture
===============
Luke 2:22-28 (NIV)
---------------
When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord
(as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord” ),
and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”
Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.
It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.
Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required,
Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
Scripture
===============
John 14:26 (NIV)
---------------
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Notes
===============
3.  The Church
Notes
===============
God wants us to understand that we cannot do life alone.
Scripture
===============
Ephesians 3:10 (NIV)
---------------
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
Notes
===============
4.  Other People
Scripture
===============
Proverbs 13:20 (NIV)
---------------
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
Scripture
===============
1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV)
---------------
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
Scripture
===============
Job 42:12 (NIV)
---------------
The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.
Notes
===============
The latter part of your life can be better if you will learn to seek and surrender to the voice of God.
