Ideal Family - Part 5
Notes
===============
We are who we are because of decisions somebody made a long time ago.
Notes
===============
In the same way, the things that you are doing right now and decisions that you are making right now are going to affect your family's future.
Notes
===============
You are somebody's previous generation!
Notes
===============
Somebody is going to be influenced by the things that you do!
Notes
===============
You have a future family!
Notes
===============
Do not underestimate the importance of how you respond to the challenges of life!
Notes
===============
Your responses are going to make an impact on your family long after you are gone!
Scripture
===============
Genesis 39:23 (NIV)
---------------
The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
Notes
===============
Joseph's attitude kept out bitterness and ensured a continual flow of God's Holy Spirit in his life.
Notes
===============
You cannot have bitterness and flow with God at the same time. You must choose which one you want.
Notes
===============
You cannot have a continual flow of God's Spirit in your life if you constantly believe the worst about everything and everybody in your life.
Scripture
===============
Genesis 33:1-3 (NIV)
---------------
Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming with his four hundred men; so he divided the children among Leah, Rachel and the two female servants.
He put the female servants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph in the rear.
He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.
Scripture
===============
Genesis 33:4 (NIV)
---------------
But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.
Notes
===============
Almost every good thing that we do is because we have seen or heard someone else do it before us!
Notes
===============
The decisions that we are making right now are going to affect our children and families for generations to come!
Notes
===============
What if the thing that you do is the MODEL for how your kids are going to respond?
Notes
===============
You and I have the power to influence the next generation in a huge way!
