The answer to all of this destructive over-emphasis on individual gratification is the celebration of family.

We can see this answer all the way back in the Book of Genesis and God’s original plan for family.

Family has always been God's idea!

God used a family to win you into His family!

Jesus emphasized our relationship with the Heavenly Father and the importance of being a part of God’s family.

God could have referred to Himself as Creator or God Almighty, but when He relates to us, He said call me “Dad.”

Remember, God has always been about creating an environment for His family to flourish and grow.

Through Jesus Christ, God has created a new environment for His families to be able to grow and flourish. This is the local Church.

Because of the importance of the local church to our families, we must be where God wants us to be.

The reason that our families can flourish in the local church is because God has set it up as a healthy family environment.

There is a security that people are searching for which the local church should provide.

Our families will be much better off connected to a local church than we ever could be alone.

Our families will thrive as they are connected to and are involved in something bigger than themselves.

Here are three questions that we need to ask ourselves as a litmus test about our connection to our local church:

Am I receiving instruction that exposes weakness in my ways of thinking and provides me with solutions so that I can become more like Christ?

Am I connecting with people in relationships that enable us to encourage and hold ourselves accountable?

===============
Is my commitment to my local church so fragile that a disagreement is grounds for walking away?

===============
The amazing thing about the grace of God is that God can take a family that is far less than “ideal” and make it as ideal as it can possibly be.

When we follow after God’s plan for our families is when we will begin to see more and more of the “ideal” and walk in God’s blessing on our families.
